EXCITING NEWS - reVessel February Update
over 3 years ago – Fri, Feb 19, 2021 at 10:55:22 PM

Hey there Backers,

It’s Jessica here.

I have the privilege of sharing for the first time that, despite the past year’s circumstances, we pushed forward and development of EVERY NEW PART IS COMPLETE and approved for mass production. Even though it slowed progress, the necessary modifications to ensure optimal performance of the finished product paid off. We're now on track for our backer fulfillment to begin on or before April 15th (yes 2021!).

Our factories will soon be returning to work following Lunar New Year festivities. We expect that March will be extremely busy as we move full steam ahead with final production, product assembly and packaging. April will be closing up boxes, loading pallets and transferring all goods to our shipping partner in the early to middle part of April when they’ll be released and heading your way.

We know this entire year has been a wild journey, impacting each one of us differently. We are SO thankful to have had the opportunity to share the highlights and turbulence of this experience with you. You are an incredible Community of people!

We wanted to give you a quick heads up about value-added content and videos coming your way so be sure to follow us on Instagram at @reVesselUSA and check out the Uncontainable Blog at reVessel.com for recipes to inspire good food anywhere and more ways to use your products. More updates coming as production concludes...

Sending love and well wishes around the world,

Newly Approved Parts and Progress - reVessel January Update Part 2
over 3 years ago – Fri, Jan 22, 2021 at 09:43:49 AM

Dear Backers -

Just a quick post to share the latest as four parts move into production and the remaining three adjustments are made.

As noted in the previous update, we are working diligently with the given Holiday schedule and each factory's celebration of Lunar New Year that leads to the month-long closure during February.  Unfortunately this does mean that some of the parts still in progress will not move to production until after this Holiday at the end of February.

We want to acknowledge the patience and understanding from the Community that we are almost there and empathize with many of you who planned to put the products to use in your life, give as gifts. We've heard from so many of you that you've bought products and used them once before tossing them. That is not what we stand for. The long-term use is of highest importance and we will remain focused until we are there.

Newly approved / completed:

  • Tens of thousands of silicone lids parts are now being manufactured.
  • Ring components are in production.
  • Steel is in route to be met with the other finished parts at our assembly factory.
  • Bamboo cutlery add-ons are complete and ready for bundling.

Parts in testing / progress:

  • The silicone seal mold underwent a several week modification to improve compression of the seal and contact with internal steel and silicone cups. We are awaiting this sample from the mold to further test.
  • We are focused on increasing the height of the silicone cups to improve the contact with the silicone seal. After improving the material to LFGB and increasing hardness most recently, we found that the shrinkage and tolerance had changed, rendering the part out of specification. This mold change will take approximately two weeks to produce testing samples.
  • Upon receiving the samples of new seal and silicone cups, we will be testing the various dimensions of the bamboo lid to ensure that closure is user-friendly and also provides the appropriate amount of compression.

That's it for now. Stay tuned for the next update. Have a terrific day and looking forward to diligently moving through these next critical steps.

reVessel Update - January off to a promising start!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Jan 07, 2021 at 01:59:38 AM

Dear Backers,

The New Year is off to a great start as we continue to make promising strides in solving the remaining issues. In December, we pulled our engineering teams back in to challenge our original designs compared to current sample parts from the tools that fell short of our leakproof standard.

We have increased the hardness of our silicone inserts to better hold their structure while inside the container and adjusted the dimensions of the bamboo. We are awaiting those new samples for testing now.

By the end of the week, we plan to be in production on most silicone parts, including the brand new silicone inserts and all sizes of lids. While testing will be underway for bamboo, we are unable to certify the seal as complete and ready to move into production as adjustments may be necessary.

Due to an overwhelming backlog, our original bamboo factory is running behind and moved the target completion to March. We quickly turned to one of our other factory sources to pick up production to stay on track without compromising the integrity of the part. Once we complete testing early next week, we look forward to commencing production. The latest update shows steel parts are estimated to be complete and ready for assembly by the end of January.

With the Lunar New Year celebration of Feb 12th quickly approaching, we are bracing for some disruption to the momentum as each factory and partner observes a different Holiday closure schedule. As we bring together each component at our assembly warehouse over the next month, we remain focused on finalizing each shipment with care and couldn’t be more thrilled to have you along for the [bumpy] adventure as we take another step toward the finish line.

In health and gratitude,

Jessica

reVessel December Production Updates - Updated Timeline
almost 4 years ago – Wed, Dec 16, 2020 at 11:08:00 PM

Season’s Greetings, Backers!

We hope this finds you well and savoring the last of a very unexpected and grueling year, speckled with silver linings. This is the first of more frequent updates as we reach the final hurdles. Will we get there, you ask? The short answer is YES! We can and we will as we're beyond the biggest hurdles and 90% there. Although it may feel like things are dragging along, over 80% of Kickstarter campaigns are late, particularly the most successful. That said, we are hard at work to make sure we deliver a seamless experience to all backers which means we're solving the most critical issues (noted below) that prevent us from shifting out of testing and modification mode and into production. We anticipate fulfillment will be delayed approximately 2 months until February.

We’ve noted in prior updates that the nature of our meticulous design relies on precision of each part and is what differentiates us from any other product available. With any type of system, an adjustment to one area leads to a domino effect. As some parts have required adjusting, similarly other parts follow.

Below is a recap of the three key areas of focus:

  • After several rounds of testing, silicone hardness still has to be adjusted due to the upgrade to LFGB Certified material. This material has proven to behave differently than the original formula and will need further adjustment to allow for compression and contact with the internal parts. We are simultaneously testing a modified part design to ensure the outcome only improves from our original concept.
  • We’re finding that the variation in manufactured bamboo from part to part results in failure to create complete leak-proofing based on our current design. An adjustment to this part will be necessary to adapt to the change in hardness of the silicone seal as mentioned above. We anticipate updated drawings within the week and samples for testing shortly after.
  • Our steel manufacturer is experiencing delays due to the challenges of producing the signature geometry of reVessel designs. This has led to higher defect rates and longer than expected production cycles. Remaining sub-components will now arrive by early to mid-January.

Although we can honestly say we are not where we hoped to be, we remain optimistic and so very excited as we have overcome significant challenges and continue to build reVessel awareness and momentum toward our mission. As always, thank you for your belief and patience as we bring these new products to life.

Happiest of Holidays to you and yours and may 2021 bring many blessings and connections to what is important.

In health and happy adventures,

Jessica and the reVessel Team

reVessel's November Update
almost 4 years ago – Sun, Nov 22, 2020 at 10:48:49 PM

One year ago, we introduced the future of safer, reusable, sophisticated lunchboxes that did more than just carry food. Of course, we solve the every day problems with leaks, cracks, breaks, toxins and inflexibility, but we're looking beyond at how journeying with reVessel addresses some of the biggest challenges our population and planet face - a chronic health and environmental crisis.

PRODUCTION UPDATE:

In the most turbulent of times, we are joyful as we near the finish line. We continue to work through the development challenges with cautious optimism of our December shipping date. This time of year is notoriously busy for production partners. Coordinating production across all of our parts can be especially difficult with factories juggling pandemic uncertainty plus holiday backlogs. Our team is working on slotting production for those parts that require additional approvals to avoid further delays. The inability to travel to our factories has extended our timeline significantly. Each time, we have to make an adjustments to improve a part, it can add weeks for review sessions between quality control, engineering and product teams to ensure there are no short cuts taken. Our production partners have served alongside our team to coordinate so beautifully. We continue to be grateful as we navigate the sensitive landscape in pursuit of our mission. Here are a few of the stunning Explorer and Adventure Kits with a peek at the colors. Take a look below for progress from the past month.

  • Production of steel is in final phase with the last of the parts expected early to mid-December.
  • Material for all new color rings is on order to prepare factories.
  • All silicone lids have been approved for production achieving a new level of heightened performance.
  • The upgrade to our raw silicone material resulted in a more rigid part for our leak-proofing leading to failure during water testing. We are reworking the part to get us back to a completely leak-proof experience.
  • One and two cup silicone inserts are pending another review and further testing after the second trial and missing the target on the function within the Adventure and Explorer Kits. We will be evaluating this week to determine next steps to get us closer to the start of production.
  • All packaging designs are complete and undergoing final proofing before moving to production.
  • Our shipping partners are gearing up to receiving all assembled rewards from our factories to successfully ship out to our amazing Kickstarter Community

Plan to check back more regularly as our update frequency will increase in December as the anticipation of shipment nears. OurWe are working with intent on ensuring the best possible experience and look forward to delivering excellence in quality and performance as the very first users of the brand new Explorer Kit and silicone inserts and updated Adventure Kits.

Wishing you all a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
